About Us

The University of Aberdeen Cardiovascular Society was founded in December 2014 with the aim of promoting medical student interest in cardiovascular (CVS) medicine. We hope to ensure that all medical students can graduate with a strong foundation of knowledge relating to CVS medicine, which will ultimately help them through their career.

Our clinical chair Dr David Gamble, at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is our direct contact with the hospital. In the future we look to continue strengthening our connections to the hospital with the possibility of the orginisation of placement programmes for our members.

Welcome to UoACVS 2019/20

August 2019

This year we hope to build on our very successful 2018/19 session. With a number of exciting new events in the pipeline, this year the Cardiovascular Society will also cover respiratory medicine in it's teaching events so that  students may gain a thorough understanding of two key and intertwined systems of the human body.

With our events tailored to suit students at every level of medical school, we welcome students from all years to enhance their knowledge and supplement the core material that is taught as part of the university curriculum

We hope that you will join us in our events and help us make learning about cardio-respiratory medicine enjoyable and interesting.
